Artist, sculptor, jewellery maker and modern furniture designer Harry Bertoia designed the original wire chair that this bar stool is designed after in 1952. His experiments with bending metal rods into practical art pieces produced a revered, modern furniture collection of seating, including the exquisite Bertoia wire chair, the predecessor of this bar stool.
