Sori Yanagi's Butterfly Stool is a true icon of furniture design. Originally designed in 1956, the stool blends Western and Japanese forms to create an elegant and original piece that is currently on display in the Museum of Modern Art. The Butterfly Stool is crafted from two identically moulded plywood forms held together with a simple brass stretcher. The stool is available in either real American plywood natural or white oak natural veneer, neither of which are stained but are the natural colours of the timber.
